Syntronic – Cycle4climate – Hero nyheter

Syntronic is pleased to announce its participation in the EU project Cycle4Climate, a collaborative initiative that encourages sustainable transportation habits and supports the global 1.5°C climate target.

Cycle4Climate focuses on promoting cycling as a viable and attractive mode of commuting in the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea.

The project brings together municipalities, companies, and organizations across borders to reduce carbon emissions, improve public health, and create more sustainable and liveable cities. Key activities include developing local cycling strategies, improving cycling infrastructure, and raising awareness about the environmental benefits of choosing the bicycle over the car. The project is partly funded by the European Union through the Interreg Central Baltic programme.

Supporting greener commuting

By taking part in Cycle4Climate, Syntronic strengthens its commitment to reducing indirect emissions by promoting greener commuting options among employees. Sustainable transportation plays a key role in the company's environmental strategy and its broader ambition to contribute to a more sustainable society.

“Sustainability is important to us. Through Cycle4Climate, we are taking practical steps to support greener commuting,” says Björn Jansson, Founder and CEO of Syntronic.

In the context to the project, representatives from Gävle Municipality visited Syntronic’s headquarters in Gävle for a knowledge-sharing session. The session provided valuable insights into local initiatives aimed at making cycling and sustainable commuting more accessible and attractive.

In addition, throughout April, employees based at Syntronic’s Gävle office participated in a survey on cycling habits, motivations, and experiences. The insights gathered will help guide future initiatives to encourage employees to choose climate-friendly ways of getting to and from work.

Beyond the Cycle4Climate initiative, Syntronic also drives sustainability in its regular operations. The company applies a Design for Environment (DfE) approach, meaning that environmental considerations are integrated into every stage of product development, from material selection to energy efficiency and end-of-life management.

By encouraging greener commuting and maintaining a strong commitment to sustainable innovation, Syntronic aspires to contribute to a greener future together with its employees.
