Syntronic develops scalable edge AI solution for industrial robotics

Syntronic has developed a high-performance Edge AI solution designed to support the growing use of artificial intelligence in industrial robotics and automation. Built around the Rockchip RK3588 processor, the platform combines AI computing, advanced connectivity and software development tools to help manufacturers bring intelligent products to market faster.

The solution has been deployed in several mobile robotics projects, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), industrial inspection robots and warehouse logistics systems.
At its core is a triple-core Neural Processing Unit (NPU) delivering 6 TOPS of AI computing performance. The platform supports multiple AI models running simultaneously, as well as local deployment of large language models (LLMs). Processing data directly on the device reduces dependence on cloud connectivity and enables faster responses in time-sensitive applications.

Built for Industrial Applications

The platform offers extensive connectivity options, including dual Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe 3.0 and multiple USB 3.1 interfaces. It also supports high-resolution video processing, making it suitable for applications involving multiple cameras and advanced vision systems.

Designed for demanding industrial environments, the solution supports operating temperatures from -40°C to +55°C. Customized thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility measures help maintain reliable performance during continuous operation.

For applications requiring additional computing power, Syntronic has expanded the platform with Rockchip RK182X AI coprocessors. This configuration delivers up to 20 TOPS of computing performance and supports more demanding workloads, including multi-camera video analytics and parallel AI processing.

From Development to Deployment

Alongside the hardware, Syntronic provides a comprehensive software development kit (SDK), including Linux driver development, AI model optimization and integration support.

The company also offers engineering services throughout the product development process, from feasibility studies and hardware customization to testing and New Product Introduction (NPI).
