Syntronic developed an advanced coordinate measurement system to automate production verification of rock drill bits. Utilizing high-precision blue laser scanning technology, the solution accurately measures critical borehead features to ensure every component meets stringent manufacturing requirements before proceeding through production.

Scope

The project included the design and development of a fully automated metrology solution for inspecting rock drill bits using advanced blue laser scanning technology. The system precisely scans each component to identify hole positions and orientations, achieving measurement accuracy of ±0.03 mm.

Custom-developed software processes the measurement data in real time, verifying that every drill bit complies with tight dimensional tolerances and manufacturing specifications.
