Due to increased demand and requests from leading automotive customers, Syntronic R&D Canada is investing in further expanding its automotive team and expertise in the domain. Syntronic intends to add more than 40 embedded software developers to its already large automotive solutions team in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal in the coming months.

We look to continue to support our customers by further growing our capacity in support of their needs."

Hans Molin, President of Syntronic Canada.

“We have been supporting leading automotive OEMs in North America for several years with highly skilled teams in Canada. Working closely with our customers, we have continued to invest in capability and competence and today have a large team supporting a number of critical functional developments for next generation vehicles. We look to continue to support our customers by further growing our capacity in support of their needs”, says Hans Molin, President of Syntronic Canada.

Transforming the car into a modern autonomous & digitalized machine

Today, Syntronic provides a centre of excellence to the automotive industry that is looking to transform their next generation concepts of autonomous & digitalized vehicles into reality by working closely with customers to help architect, implement and test solutions.

Syntronic has expertise with development of software-driven features using modern toolkits, which are becoming a central theme of vehicle development. These features are increasingly being required by consumers and becoming a key requirement for OEMs to provide the differentiation needed in a highly competitive market.

Furthermore, these software features need more frequent updating, since relentless innovation is now more than ever a key success factor in improving or fortifying a vehicle’s attractiveness in a crowded space.

Embedded SW & Autonomous Vehicles of the Future

Embedded software now controls everything from infotainment systems, passenger comfort and vehicle essentials, like engine control, braking and steering, to more advanced driver assistance, safety, and security features. Furthermore, the realization of ever higher levels of autonomy only cements the importance of software, as it forms the decision engine for self-driving systems.

Developing a robust embedded system is an intricate, but absolutely necessary, process that involves multiple domains across several disciplines. The increasing complexity of automotive systems requires streamlined processes and the ability of cross-organizational and cross-domain teams to effectively collaborate in real-time.

At Syntronic, our teams are closely tied to customer development groups and work in lockstep with their teams to ensure efficient and accurate feature development and deliveries.

“Our customers are leading the charge towards connected vehicles and mobility solutions, from self driving cars to digital / connected services that benefit the end user”, says Hans Molin. “At Syntronic, we work closely with our partners to gain a thorough understanding of their needs, goals, and challenges. This collaborative approach enables us to offer tailored solutions that meet our partners' specific requirements, while also ensuring that we deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative solutions,” he adds.

The automotive industry is transforming in lock step with other industries to capitalize on a huge market opportunity. Predictions suggest that unlocking the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) could generate up to $11.1 trillion a year in economic value by 2025. Moreover, McKinsey estimate that the market for vehicle-gathered data will be worth $750 billion a year by 2030.

If the current market trends continue, Syntronic foresees a spike in demand not only for its automotive sector services but also for its expertise in other technology-intensive domains such as the telecom, medtech, and industrial sectors.
