4D high-resolution millimeter-wave radar

Syntronic, a global engineering design house, has developed its own state-of-the-art 4D high-resolution millimeter-wave radar solution.

The radar solution delivers exceptional performance in all weather conditions, resulting in ultra-high accuracy. This makes it a useful solution for autonomous vehicles and other advanced automotive products. The 4D millimeter-wave radar also provides a cost advantage over traditional vehicle radars, such as lidar.

"The demand for cutting-edge radar solutions is increasing.”

Syntronic's 4D high-resolution millimeter-wave radar solution offers excellent all-weather performance, ensuring uninterrupted functionality in challenging weather conditions. It provides ultra-high accuracy, enhancing the perception capabilities of autonomous vehicles for precise object detection and tracking.

Leveraging millimeter-wave technology, the radar solution offers superior range and resolution, enabling enhanced situational awareness for autonomous driving systems.

With the rapid advancement and adoption of autonomous driving technology in the global automotive market, the demand for cutting-edge radar solutions is increasing. Syntronic is committed to driving innovation and supporting its customers in creating cutting-edge autonomous driving perception systems to meet this growing demand.

"Leveraging millimeter-wave technology, the radar solution offers superior resolution.”

Technical specifications

Syntronic’s newly developed solution has a velocity resolution of about 0.2 m/s, a horizontal and elevation angle detection range of about ±60° and ±14°, and a resolution of less than 1°. The maximum detection distance, 77GHz operating frequency and ultra-low power realize the high-performance imaging of the radar.

Hardware composition

As a solution to condense self-developed core technologies, Syntronic 4D high-resolution millimeter-wave radar supports two modes of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and beamforming. The solution, using the most popular 12-transmission and 16-reception uniform antenna array design, solves the hardware bottleneck encountered in the improvement of radar performance, and provides users with excellent performance and useful functions.

Software algorithm

In terms of software algorithms, the system realizes two key links of signal processing and data processing, and adopts advanced algorithms such as sparse matrix, DBSCAN clustering algorithm, and constant false alarm rate (CFAR) to realize the collection, processing, and point cloud of target information.
