VP Business Development (Customer Partnership & Team Builder)
What you'll do
- Lead and scale a Business Development organization focused on long-term customer partnerships, recurring revenue, and sustainable growth.
- Build, coach, and manage a high-performing Business Development team with clear structure, roles, goals, and accountability.
- Establish and enforce disciplined pipeline management, forecasting rigor, and performance reporting across the team.
- Own revenue growth across staff augmentation, managed services, and project-based software & hardware development engagements.
- Provide strategic leadership on high-value or complex opportunities, engaging directly where executive presence accelerates outcomes.
- Serve as executive sponsor for key accounts, building and maintaining senior-level customer relationships.
- Drive account strategy and expansion planning to grow footprint across teams, capabilities, and geographies.
- Guide and enable the team through opportunity qualification, solution positioning, and commercial strategy.
- Partner closely with engineering and delivery leadership to align go-to-market strategy with execution capability.
- Establish a consistent sales operating cadence including account planning, pipeline reviews, and performance management.
- Act as an escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and protect long-term relationships.
- Ensure seamless handoff from sales to delivery and accountability for ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Represent Syntronic at the executive level in strategic customer engagements and relevant industry forums.
- Drive continuous improvement of sales processes, tools, playbooks, and metrics.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into growth opportunities, risks, and resource needs.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven sales culture aligned with Syntronic’s values.
What you'll need to get the job done
- 15 -25 years of experience in engineering or equivalently technical domain
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in sales / business development
- Strong experience leading customer-focused BD or account teams within engineering services or IT services organizations.
- Proven success selling staff augmentation and consulting-style engagements, preferably in complex hardware and software environments.
- Ability to structure and negotiate complex services agreements.
- Strong relationship-building skills with executive, technical, and procurement stakeholders.
- Experience managing distributed teams and global customers.
- Data-driven approach to forecasting, pipeline management, and performance metrics.
- Collaborative leadership style with emphasis on team development and motivation.
