Supply Chain Specialist
What you'll do
- Support the development of costed bills of material by gathering and validating raw material pricing and availability data for customer quotations.
- Actively review MRP outputs and collaborate with planning and production teams to understand material requirements and potential supply risks.
- Work closely with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, and order status, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
- Execute and manage purchase orders for raw materials, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining adherence to budget targets.
- Monitor, track, and proactively expedite open purchase orders to mitigate delays and support on-time production.
- Analyze supplier performance metrics (cost, quality, delivery) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify supply chain risks and support mitigation strategies, particularly in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams to support NPI and ongoing production activities.
- Support process improvements within the supply chain function, contributing to efficiency, cost reduction, and scalability.
- Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, contributing to their ongoing development and refinement.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Perform other occasional assignments in the spirit and purpose of the role and within the scope of the Supply Chain Management function.
What you'll need to get the job done
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of supply chain fundamentals including purchasing, planning, and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
What will make us REALLY love you
- 3–5 years of experience in a supply chain, purchasing, or materials planning role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in PCB manufacturing, electronics, or contract manufacturing (EMS) is a strong asset.
- Experience supporting prototype/NPI and low-to-mid volume production environments.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- APICS, PMAC, or other supply chain certification (or in progress) is considered an asset.
- Experience working with global suppliers and managing lead time variability and supply risk.
