The Syntronic team in Ontario, Canada was proud to host a group of bright, ambitious students from the School Within Innovative & Future Technologies (SWIFT) Program, an innovative educational initiative based in Kanata North, Canada’s largest technology park, that gives senior high school students immersive, industry-aligned tech experiences.

The visit brought the classroom to life as students toured both Syntronic’s R&D facility and the newly expanded production site – a state-of-the-art space that consolidates production and repair operations under one roof and significantly boosts capacity and advanced production technologies.

Real-world skills

A highlight of the visit was a hands-on PCB design challenge where students got to apply practical skills in a collaborative, interactive environment. Guided by Syntronic engineers, they learned how circuit design drives real product development, turning theoretical knowledge into something tangible and exciting.

This experience gave students a glimpse into the kinds of tasks engineers tackle daily and reinforced the importance of problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking in technical careers.

Seeing innovation from concept to production

In addition to the design challenge, students explored Syntronic’s expanded production site where they witnessed the journey of a product from prototype to full-scale manufacturing. The facility features advanced surface mount technology and modern production lines that help bring cutting-edge electronics to life.

By seeing both R&D and production firsthand, students gained a deeper appreciation for how innovation is translated into real products that power sectors like automotive, industrial, medtech, and telecom.
