Syntronic joins O-RAN ALLIANCE to keep contributing to innovation in open radio access networks

Syntronic is pleased to announce that the company has been welcomed as a member of the O-RAN ALLIANCE. The O-RAN ALLIANCE is a global collaboration between world-leading mobile network operators, developers, vendors, and research and academic institutions that are shaping the Radio Access Networks (RAN), with a focus on open, intelligent, virtualized and interoperable solutions.

3GPP standards work as baseline

Since its start in 2018, the O-RAN ALLIANCE has grown into a solid community comprised of more than 300 operator members and contributors. The alliance took the 3GPP standards work as its baseline and set out to create additional technical specifications tailor-made for open and intelligent implementations of 3GPP-based RAN.

As an O-RAN ALLIANCE member, Syntronic will be in an even better position to contribute to the development of open radio access networks, for instance through reference designs. The company’s long-standing experience of developing radio products and close collaboration with world-leading telecom customers serves as a solid foundation for further development.

Macro, mMIMO, and low-power indoor 5G NR radios

Syntronic already has experience in designing and implementing Macro, mMIMO, and low-power indoor 5G NR radios. Moreover, the company has documented expertise in platform software development, O-RAN C/U/S/M Plane service development, DFE and AFE driver development, DPD and CFR, and DUC/DDC/AGC development, as well as radio integration and characterization.

According to market predictions, the need for open and interoperable solutions like the ones developed by the members of the O-RAN ALLIANCE, is likely to increase in the telecommunications industry.
