Apply for thesisTitle:
Using image recognition to play Uno card game.
Description of the thesis proposal:
Uno is a classic card game which is played with numbered playing cards in four different colors, together with action cards and wild cards. The cards are played by color, where action cards and wild cards can change color, playing direction, skip next player etc. The goal of the game is to score 500 points (or another agreed number).
By using a camera and image recognition software, a computer could learn to play the classic card game UNO, using image recognition to identify the color and value of the top card and then make the optimal play. The project concerns literature studies, image recognition, software development.
We seek one to two students for this thesis. The thesis work could easily be divided between two students, e.g. where one student can focus on image recognition and one student on the playing algorithm. The scope could easily be scaled by changing number of players, removing action cards etc.
Depending on the applicant’s background and interests, we are flexible in the exact scope of the thesis project.
