Title:
Optimization of a RF Amplifier Stage
Description of the thesis proposal:
When designing radio hardware there are many different parts with different functions that needs to be handled. Some of these parts are DC-power supply, transceiver, power amplifier and receiver. This thesis is focused on the RF amplifier parts, i.e. the transceiver/receiver parts.
The task is to optimize and verify the design of an RF amplifier stage, consisting of an amplifier, a lowpass filter, a band-pass filter, and a few matching-networks. The main optimization parameter is the S-parameter performance, but also noise figure is an important parameter.
For a successful thesis work, we believe that the applicants should have:
- Some basic knowledge/experience of electronic circuits
- A passion for electronics, and preferably also for RF
