In this project we propose to investigate an approach of an autonomous vehicle that is capable of self-navigation in an office enviorment, utilizing positioning systems, LIDAR and/or Vision controls.
This master’s thesis explores cutting-edge technology that brings autonomous vehicles into everyday environments, showcasing the potential for future-proof solutions. Imagine a smart vehicle that seamlessly moves through office spaces, delivering documents, conducting tours, or assisting with tasks—all without human intervention. This research offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growing field of autonomous systems, proving their value in dynamic, real-world settings. Shape the future of automation with your innovative proof of concept.
Proposed research question:
- Which sensors and systems are best suited for an autonomous vehicle in an indoor setting?
- Which SLAM algorithms are most optimized for real-time performance in highly dynamic environments?
- What is the impact of multi-sensor solutions on accuracy and robustness in sub-optimal environments?
- We are of course open to variations of the proposed research questions and new proposals.
Features:
- ROS development
- LIDAR technology
- Vision control
- Positioning system (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
- Embedded development
- … And much more!
Background:
The proposed project will require one or two dedicated students, with interests in a wide range of engineering subjects, such as embedded programming, ROS and LIDAR/Vision control. Previous experience with software development in ROS is welcomed. Depending on the applicant’s background and interests, we are flexible in the exact scope of the thesis project.
Application:
We look forward to receiving your resume, and preferably, a personal letter in which you explain why you want to write your thesis with Syntronic.
We screen and evaluate applications on an ongoing basis.
