The Warehouse Manager will have oversight of day-to-day warehouse operations including monitoring inventory and managing warehouse staff to ensure that products are received, stored, kitted, and shipped in an accurate and efficient manner. The Warehouse Manager will also be required to step in and perform the duties of warehouse assistants from time to time.

What you will do

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities including management of warehouse staff to ensure daily tasks are completed.
  • Prioritize tasks and distribute workload among available warehouse staff.
  • Assist in setting team goals.
  • Motivate and lead warehouse staff.
  • Ensure safety is always prioritized.
  • Look for and act upon opportunities for process improvement.
  • Oversee training of new warehouse staff.
  • Report on key performance metrics.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
  • Report damaged or missing inventory to management.
  • Ensure inventory records are accurate and up to date by overseeing Cycle Counts, Transaction, MRB
  • Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles.
  • Unload inventory from delivery trucks.
  • Process receipt of incoming inventory to ensure: No damage occurred during transit, Correct parts are received, Correct quantity is received.
  • Sort, organize and store inventory in the proper location. This may include packaging, labelling, stacking, and organizing pallets, or large bulk items.
  • Process workorder material kits: Gather inventory from storage locations, Verify accurate counts, Deliver required inventory to production area.
  • Process finished goods inventory for delivery to customers: Package and label as required, Process shipping documentation, Process RMAs (customer returns), Monitor product shelf life and disposition any expired product.
  • Ensure all warehouse staff is using designated personal safety equipment as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and/or calibrated (forklift, tare scales, shipping scales, etc).
  • Operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  • What you will need to get the job done

  • Post-secondary education in materials management, logistics and/or warehouse management is preferred. Alternatively, relevant experience in materials management, logistics and/or warehouse management will be considered in lieu of formal post-secondary education.
  • Three or more years experience leading a team with proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives is an asset.
  • Certification by the province to operate a forklift as needed.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the shift. May occasionally be required to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Must be capable of using a computer to manage inventory records. This includes transactions to adjust on hand inventory, receive goods, issue, and ship.
  • Ability to write and respond to emails/queries from other departments.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Must follow all health and safety protocols as dictated by the company and government agencies.
