Are you ready to be part of a leading global engineering design house specializing in the design and development of embedded software/hardware, electronics, and electro-mechanics?
As RF Technician, you will work in the RF Engineering team and assist the Designers and Engineers to build, test, and troubleshoot RF components and circuits. You are expected to read and understand data sheets, schematics and PCB layout and assemble/re-work PCB boards. You will perform test and troubleshooting of RF circuits using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, power meter, multimeter and oscilloscope.
Essential Functions:
· Read and understand RF component data sheets, schematics and PCB layout.
· Build RF prototype and test circuits from the schematic using soldering station and heat gun.
· Solder/Desolder and re-work RF components – both through hole and surface mount.
· Maintain RF lab and rework station; check and stock typical parts – resistors, capacitors and inductors.
· Test and debug RF components - Driver/Power Amplifier, LNA, Mixer, Filters, Switches using spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, power meter and oscilloscope.
· Measure RF parameters such as Insertion loss, Return Loss and Gain.
· Assist Engineers in data collection under room and over temperature.
· Assist Engineers to develop methods and procedures to modify and improve the test process.
· Must have experience in RF testing, board assembly, soldering components from instructions.
· Must be able to solder, de-solder and rework RF components – both through hole and surface mount using soldering station and heat gun.
· Must manage RF Engineering Lab.
· Must be able to read and understand RF component data sheet, instructions, schematics and PCB layout.
· Good understanding of RF testing and debugging – Insertion loss, return loss, gain, linearity.
· Must be familiar with common RF components – Driver/Power Amplifier, LNA, Mixer, Filters, switches etc.
· Must be familiar with common RF measuring instruments including spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, oscilloscope, power meter, power supply, multimeter, temperature chamber etc.
· Effective communication skills are necessary in order to work effectively with team members, managers, and other employees
· Electronics Certification (RFID) a plus
· Diploma or Degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology or equivalent.
· Five or more years of direct experience with RF, analog and digital circuits.
· Experience with operation of RF test equipment, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, power supplies, temperature chamber.
· Experience using hand tools (soldering irons, test fixtures).
· Troubleshooting to the RF component and circuits.
