In this role, the successful candidate will be a member of the Strategic Engineering Group at Syntronic.  The role calls for someone who is highly experienced in the design of radio systems hardware and has been though a number of projects from start to finish.  The ideal candidate will also have the desire and ability to interact directly with customers to define requirements during the proposal phase and report progress during the execution phase.  This role is ideal for someone that wants to have a higher level view of the overall technical and business aspects of projects.
The Radio Systems Engineer will normally by deeply involved in the synthesis of technical solutions to address customer requirements early on the engagement, developing a high-level systems architecture and allocating all customer requirements.  They will also support the creation of work breakdown structures and estimate of effort and time to support the bid.  Once the business is won, the Systems Engineer will launch the technical team into the project and provide oversite as required until the project is complete or has reached an advanced level of technical maturity.  It is the responsibility of the Radio Systems Engineer to ensure that the design meets the technical requirements tat were committed to the customer.

  • What you’ll do:

  • You will be a key contributor and a technical leader responsible for defining and leading activities pertaining to design of radio systems. 
  • You will be responsible for:

  • Systemization and requirements decomposition of new radio products into lower-level design blocks.
  • Formal requirements documentation and traceability.
  • Contribute to systems studies, primarily in Radio hardware and Radio performance
  • Rendering of solid and compelling technical proposals
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of products, simulation tools and processes
  • Mentor/coach more junior members within the Systems or broader hardware development team
  • What you'll need to get the job done:

  • Solid understanding of basic communications and wireless systems theory and technology
  • Solid knowledge of radio standards (5G, 3G, 2G, WCDMA, LTE, WiFi)
  • Solid knowledge of MIMO Radio technologies
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP specifications, especially in the area of Radio performance characteristics
  • You must possess a degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience with at least 7 years of relevant demonstrated experience
  • Strong knowledge of RF test instruments.
  • Experience in the development and analysis of simulations, knowledge of simulation environments like Genesys, ADS and/or MATLAB
  • Analytical mindset, high capacity, result oriented and ability to deliver under pressure
  • Good problem solving and trouble-shooting capacity
